Federal Tax Day Extension to July 15 for Federal Taxes– announced by IRS in response to COVID-19

Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced on March 21, 2020, IR-2020-50, that the federal income tax filing due date is automatically extended from April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020.

Additionally, IRS, along with U.S. Department of Labor announced that small and midsize employers can begin taking advantage of two new refundable payroll tax credits, designed to immediately and fully reimburse them for the cost of providing Coronavirus related leave to their employees. IR-2020-57, March 20, 2020.
